Frequently Asked Questions About Hearing Aids & Testing
What is the cost of the hearing test? Hearing tests are free for anyone 18 years and up. We're unable to offer pediatric testing. Please contact Coastal Health and they'll be able to help you.
How long will my appointment take? Hearing tests generally take about an hour to an hour and a half followed by a discussion of the results. We make sure to book extra time to answer any questions you may have.
What if I think I may have a wax build-up? We recommended coming into the clinic so we can take a look prior to your appointment. We offer a variety of wax removal products to help.
Can you help with my Tinnitus? There are many different varieties of Tinnitus. Some will need to be referred to your GP or an ENT. Others may be helped with hearing aids or counseling.
Is there a cure for Tinnitus? Not as of yet, unfortunately. Hearing aids can offer treatment for many different varieties of Tinnitus.
My friend or a family member has an old set of hearing aids, can I just use those? It is not recommended that you use someone else's hearing aids, without your own hearing test or evaluation. We can discuss reprogramming options with you in the clinic.
